Inspired by this dedication, I founded this brand with a deep commitment to my heritage, vowing,
"One day, I will bring Filipino products to the world, entirely crafted by Filipino artisans."
Initially, I envisioned a resortwear line for my 2nd collection—a small capsule of maxi and midi dresses or skirts. However, as May 2024 approached and with my upcoming move to Paris for university in August, time became a pressing factor. With a production lead time of at least 9 months, I pivoted to creating accessories! And so, the concept for our seagrass and ticog tote bags was born. Determined to collaborate exclusively with local manufacturers who specialize in traditional craftsmanship in the Philippines, particularly banig weaving, I sought out partners who shared this vision. Each item in this collection is crafted from natural materials, including Seagrass fibers, Abaca, and Ticog leaves. Every piece is 100% handcrafted by Filipino artisans from Samar and Bicol, Philippines—blending heritage, culture, and a deeply personal dream.
In line with this commitment, we carefully plan our production processes, ensuring that our artisans have ample time for their families while dedicating the necessary care and artistry to crafting each bag. Our focus extends beyond the creation of beautiful products; we are equally invested in enhancing the quality of life for those who make them.
This thoughtful approach renders every Rêve de Chella bag truly special—not only because it is handcrafted by skilled artisans, but also because it carries with it the stories of their better lives.
